Soundscape ~ the acoustic environment as perceived by humans, in context or a sound or combination of sounds that forms or arises from an immersive environment.

Biophony ~ the sound of life

Acoustic ecology ~ a highly interdisciplinary dynamic field with increased engagement across environmental sciences, architecture, health, digital technology, creative arts and humanities through analysis of natural soundscape. An example of applied acoustic ecology is Bernie Krause‘s idea of analyzing ecological change through its expression in biophany, the ‘ biotic symphony in an ecosystem.’

The World Forum for Acoustic Ecology, founded in 1993, is an international association of affiliated organizations and individuals who share a common concern for the state of the world’s soundscapes.

meritocracy trap—a system that rewards an ever-growing share of society’s riches to an ever-shrinking pool of winners. In practice, however, meritocracy now excludes everyone outside of a narrow elite.

time famine ~ the feeling that there are not enough hours in a day to tackle everything we have to get done.

proscenium ~ the part of a theater stage in front of the curtain. the stage of an ancient theater. The word proscenium comes from the proscenium arch the frame that outlines the stage and separates the stage space from the audience space. From the idea of proscenium opening as a transparent glass wall through which the audience looks at the other three walls of the room.

Securities ~ shares of stocks or mutual funds.

Bōchord ~ From Old English “library, collection of books” equivalent to book +‎ hoard.

Burnout ~ the extinction of motivation or incentive, especially where one’s devotion to a cause or relationship fails to produce the desired results.

Languishing ~ apathy, a sense of restlessness or feeling unsettled or an overall lack of interest in life or the things that typically bring joy. It is the antithesis of flourishing. Languishing is a series of emotions, not a mental illness, and encompasses distressing feelings of stagnation, monotony, and emptiness,

When possible, create a designated space to work separate from where you relax. Take time off as often as possible to help feel more effective when working and less overwhelmed. Lean into anything that brings enjoyment. It is okay to hold plans loosely.

People do business with people they like.

Visual Storytelling ~ the art of using language and images to convey a narrative account of real or imagined events. Any creative tools can used to visually express the story, i.e., paint, canvases, boards, colored pencils, crayons, chalk, chalkboard, yarn, thread, fabric, paper, journals, photographs, etc.

Manifestation (laws of attraction) ~ taking proactive steps towards turning your dreams into reality. Be specific, clear and concise about your goals and write down exactly what you want. You must also take aligned action toward your goals.

369 Method ~ You have to start with affirmation. When you wake up, write down your affirmation three times. In the afternoon, write it down six times. Before bed, write it down nine times. You do it for 33 to 45 days. The method is worth trying since it can potentially help ground your mind, intentions, and actions in a way that you most likely will be able to recognize the opportunities as opposed to going about your day on autopilot, recycling the same old thoughts and feelings, and attracting the same unwanted stuff. This specific technique is all about repetition.
