I will draw every for at least 15 minutes. My goal is about showing up every day and not about making a masterpiece every day.
I graduated from a vocational high school for commercial art in 1980. I graduated from Temple University with a major in photojournalism and a minor in film in 1985. I worked as a photojournalist for 30 years and took a buyout in 2006.
I’ve drawn, painted and sketched off and on since high school and have old art supplies and half filled sketchbooks going back that far.
My retirement job is at an independent school for grades 6 to 12 that my child attends where I am a janitor, basketball coach, mentor for Trans student and substitute teacher for every grade and subject.
Important to note: just ‘cuz I mention someone’s work does not mean we know each other. It doesn’t mean they even know I exist nor does it mean that they like me or approve of my work. Nor does it mean I endorse them unequivocally or that they endorse me. It means that there’s a particular cultural thing that I’m trying to talk about and an idea or project of their’s is relevant and I want to give credit where credit is due.
