Hand Lettering

Calligraphy is a visual art related to writing. The art of giving form to signs in an expressive, harmonious and skillful manner. Hand Lettering is the ‘art of drawing letters’, making it a much more flexible and accessible art form. My hand writing and hand lettering is awful.

Persimmon

One of the assignments for the Seeing class at the online Sketchbook School was to draw an object with a pen the same color as the object. This persimmon was a great model.

Car Collection

One of the assignment in the Seeing class in the online Sketchbook School was to draw a ‘collection’ in one color ink. I don’t have enough cars to fill a page. Maybe I should draw them all again to fill the empty space.

Why Keep a Sketchbook?

A moment passes quickly, but if it’s collected inside a sketchbook, captured in one of our sketches, it has the opportunity to last forever. We want to celebrate today while preserving the memories for many tomorrows. —Suzanne Buchanan Cabrera https://www.dropbox.com/s/zo4dp0nwdo9mlca/101_Things_To_Draw.pdf?dl=0

Self portraits

I will draw these again and a few more from photos in a couple of months or so. And I may add watercolor to these one day once I take a watercolor class.
